Hi Friends,
I am Michael with Steem username @mickyscofield..It will certainly be immodest if I fail to acknowledge or recognize how my life has been transformed and still progressing courtesy of Crypto.
I hail from South Eastern Nigeria but reside in the Northern part of the Country. Youth unemployment is not new in my country but sadly, it became worse when the new Government came onboard in 2015. Lots of jobs were lost, Economy witnessed the worst scenario ever better described as "Turmoil", Some Industries were folding and Workers became redundant, and my country was classified as the poorest nation in the World this year. Yet, the Government could only blame past government amidst this turbulence in Economy
HOW DID I SURVIVED?
I didn't evade this challenge faced by my country Men/Women...I had a small job after graduation from the University in a School where I taught Mathematics, Agric Science, Geography and Chemistry working 7 hours daily weekends exempted with a pay of
N15,000 ($41) monthly
Very weird to many right?....Well it was a big bucks for me since I could live with it amidst the hunger in the land...I hated borrowing from people. I managed.
JOURNEY TO CRYPTO LAND
I was surfing the Internet sometime in 2016 to get some news feeds on my Facebook and Opera mini browser when I kept seeing Bitcoin and Crypto popping up my browser
I thought it was phishing messages or adverts about the Bitcoin thing... Sadly, it coincided with some ponzi which were gaining waves at the time in my country.
I ignored bitcoin then
Fast forward to June, 2017...I was ill and my Mom got a flier from my Church about a "Crypto Seminar" organized by a Catholic Priest in another Diocese outside mine.
I loved the designs on the Fliers and that attracted me into reading through the flier until I discovered it was the same Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency related topic but this time "The Billion Coin" (T.B.C).
I gave it trial this time to quench off my curiousity...My Brother attended the seminar and gave me details afterwards on return home.
Prior to the seminar, I started searching about Cryptocurrency related topics online than I came across Steemit on June 29, 2017.
I signed up that day and got my password same day.
I resigned from my Teaching job when I got my first payout on Steemit in July 17, 2017.
Since joining the Crypto community, Life has been better than it used to be for me.
I am part of the "Decentralization campaign crew" who wouldn't want to go backwards by subscribing to a centralized world.
I have found Freedom, Love, Happiness and of course, Good Friends from Crypto.
I have been opportune to give to the society via community work and selflessness in offering a helping hand to the less fortunate in our society.
I belong to the SteemMinna community which is an NGO backed within the Blockchain aimed at reaching out to the vulnerable groups such as; Children.
I have met Angels in Steemit since joining @tarekadam, @mcfarhat, @surpassinggoogle, @anomadsoul, @hightouch, @canadian-coconut and so many others so numerous to mention
