The anthropic principle – one of the principles of modern cosmology trying to explain why in case fundamental physical parameters of the Universe differ from the observed values only at a small size, intelligent life couldn't be formed.
The term "anthropic principle" has been for the first time used in 1973 by the British physicist B. Carter. However, after his publication, many scientists have noted that the similar idea a little in other interpretations was formulated and earlier. In particular, before everything she has been sounded as the anthropic principle in cosmology in 1955 in the USSR at a scientific conference on questions of extragalactic astronomy. Among scientists who offered this idea there were Soviet scientists G.M. Idlis, A.L. Zelmanov, American R. Dikke.
Mark out the strong and weak anthropic principles.
- Weak claims that values of world constants, sharply other than ours, aren't observed because where they are, we are absent.
- Strong assumes that in the Universe there were naturally conditions under which the person could appear.
The anthropic principle allows both religious, and scientific interpretation.
- It agrees the first, anthropic characteristics of the Universe look as confirmation of faith in the Creator who has harmoniously designed the world.
- The scientific theory is based on a thesis about a basic possibility of existence of a set of the worlds (multiuniverse) in which the most various combinations of physical parameters and laws are embodied.
