There seems to be great confusion about Koch’s Postulates with regard to ‘Covid-19’.
Contrary to the spin of Big-Pharma’s “Fact-Checkers” however, those challenging the evidence for SARS-CoV-2’s existence, such as Dr’s Kaufman / Cowan / Lanka, etc. are well aware that (according to the Germ-Theory model) ‘viruses’ need cells to propagate, and also that this was not known at the time Koch created his postulates. For example:-
“…with a virus, since they can’t reproduce and they’re not alive, you can’t grow them in a pure culture of just virus particles, so you need to have host cells, so that would be cells basically from the person who is ill, or, the source of the virus in the first place.” —Dr. Andrew Kaufman, Rooster in the River of Rats video presentation, 04:32-05:20 (2020).
The primary issue of contention however, is that, no form of ‘postulates’ (or any other way of proving infection from any supposed virus) would, or ever could, be validly fulfilled without the ‘virus’ being properly isolated and purified first.
“The fact is and remains that a virus has never been isolated according to the meaning of the word isolation, and it has never been photographed and biochemically characterised as a whole unique structure.” (Dr. Stefan Lanka, former Virologist, [source])
In one sense, that Koch’s Postulates cannot fully be fulfilled by a ‘virus’ is not contested by Terrain Theorists since they state that ‘viruses’ are actually biological house-keepers!
What Dr’s Kaufman / Cowan / Lanka et. al. are saying is that if pathogenic viruses are real, then proper isolation/purification steps, _followed by _some form of Koch’s Postulates (or other way of proving infection can be reproduced in a healthy subject) ought to be able to be demonstrated—and that this has _never been done for SARS-CoV-2, or, in fact, any alleged ‘pathogenic virus’.
So, on the one hand we’ve got ‘fact-checkers’/hardcore Germ-Theory advocates bellowing out:-
“[SARS-CoV-2] does not need to adhere to Koch’s postulates as it is a virus, and Koch’s rules have been widely disregarded now.” From <https://fullfact.org/health/Covid-isolated-virus/>
And…
“Today scientists recognize Koch’s postulates mainly for their historical importance rather than as hard-and-fast rules to demonstrate disease causation.” From <https://respectfulinsolence.com/2020/12/18/quacks-misuse-kochs-postulates-to-deny-covid-19/>
But as Dr. Sam Bailey humorously highlights,
“Perhaps one of the most entertaining things we see these days is lots of researchers who say, ‘We don’t need Koch’s Postulates in the 21st Century.’ But it seems other researchers didn’t get the memo(!) and are still making intermittent claims that they have been able to satisfy the postulates with viruses [or else alluding to the validity of the process by stating that they tried to do so—CH].” (Dr. Sam Bailey, Koch’s Postulates Germ School Dropout video [11:27-11:46] )
Example(s) of modern ‘virus’ papers claiming, or alluding to the validity of the aims of Koch’s Postulates:-
https://academic.oup.com/bjs/article/108/8/879/6316026 https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMoa2001017 https://www.nature.com/articles/423240a/ (Koch’s as modified by Rivers) https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2312-y (Koch’s as modified by Rivers)
Reuters tries to explain this away by referring to Rivers’ Revision of Koch’s Postulates:- “Updated criteria for determining viruses that cause disease are sometimes still referred to as Koch’s postulates. These involve animals being infected with the suspect virus and viruses being grown in cells, which would not be considered a “pure culture” as Koch would have understood it and would not fulfil the purification criteria mentioned previously even though other microbes are removed.” From <https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-koch-idUSL2N2L23F1>
However, the point is that the discussion over Koch’s Postulates (or any subsequent variations), such as Rivers Revision of Koch’s Postulates (1937), is a red herring if you don’t have a truly isolated and purified virus to begin with. And Dr. Kaufman shows that Rivers’ criteria have not been met by various papers that claimed it for SARS-CoV-1 either.
Despite all the controversy, noise and confusion however, there is acknowledgement on all sides of this argument that if a specific microorganism is claimed to cause a disease, then there ought to be clear and demonstrable proof of that—including the ability to recreate the disease in a healthy subject. Those holding Germ Theory claim that this has been done for ‘SARS-CoV-2’. Terrain Theorists state, categorically (and rightly in my opinion), that it has not, the central issues of contention being:-
“…that the SARS-CoV-2 virus has never been isolated or purified. As a result, no confirmation of the virus’ existence can be found. The logical, common sense, and scientific consequences of this fact are:
- the structure and composition of something not shown to exist can’t be known, including the presence, structure, and function of any hypothetical spike or other proteins;
- the genetic sequence of something that has never been found can’t be known;
- “variants” of something that hasn’t been shown to exist can’t be known;
- it’s impossible to demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 causes a disease called Covid-19.” From <https://andrewkaufmanmd.com/sovi/>
There is indeed great confusion about Koch’s Postulates with regard to ‘Covid-19’, and I believe that this has been deliberately exploited (or engineered) as a red herring by Big-Pharma funded persons and groups, who use this confusion to hide the truth. And what is that truth they seek to hide? That their Germ-Theory hocus-pocus ‘virus’ stories simply don’t stand up to scrutiny in the plain light of day.
