Who watches test matches nowadays? 🤔
I get this expression a lot. And I don't blame people for their view. After all, in the age of slam-bang, hyper-active T20s, test matches are slow, boring and not cool.

But these 'boring' test matches have a lesson or two that can come in handy in these times. What are those?
Have you realised how our lives have somehow become synonymous with the fast-paced form of cricket? Short attention span, instant messages, quick resolution, get-together's, parties, etc. It is like we crave for 'speed'.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put breaks on the speedy lifestyle. It seems that life has come to a standstill. However, it is chugging along like always, it is just that we were too quick to notice it.
The same goes for test matches. It progresses with each delivery, yet it seems like nothing is happening.
The current situation is just like a test match - a long, tedious, 'boring' test match. We can consider coronavirus as a bowling machine and each day as delivery.
Bring out the Rahul Dravid in you and play each delivery on its merit. Duck, leave it alone, block it - do everything possible to control your instinct of trying to hit it out of the park.
Because runs don't matter at this moment, staying at the wicket does. 🙂
