1 Timothy 6 v 10-12 KJV:For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 KJV:But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 KJV:Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
To have money is not a sin, In fact Christ want us to live a prosperous life. His plan for us is to live in abundance. He want us to operate in the realm of supernatural abundance. But we should not let the love of money to consume our heart. We should not let money take the place of God in our life.
Remember in Matthew 6 v 33,
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Which include all the things the gentiles seek which include money, prosperity shall be given to us.
We are to seek God first, God should be our first priority. We should not seek after the material things of this world. When we seek God first, automatically material things will seek us without stress. God is our supplier, it doesn't matter the amount we earn monthly, it is the blessing of God that makes one rich and added no sorrow with it.
Many have allow the love of money to take them away from God. They've become slave to money. Money has enslave them and took away their faith in Christ Jesus. Many Christian have committed a lot of atrocities all because of money and prosperity.
Therefore, Has a genuine Christian, We must flee from anything that might want to draw us away from God. God is the author and creator of all things. He has the ability to meet us at any point of our needs. Instead of pursuing the material things of this world that will perish with world, we should rather run after the things of God which brings eternal life. We should purse righteousness (right standing with God and true goodness), godliness (which is the loving fear of God and being Christlike), faith, love, steadfastness (patience), and gentleness of heart. When we embrace all this, surely prosperity will be our portion even without chasing after it.
Therefore we should fight a good fight of faith. Let not anything of this world take away your faith in Christ. Challenges and temptation will arise but we have a loving father who cares about us. He knows all our needs, All we need to do is to keep our faith on God and he will surprise us by doing exceedingly abundantly above all what we ask or think.
