Welcome to Dev Log Undefined. Why it is undefined? Because we don't really have dev logs but we thought we are at a good point to share all of our progress for this update.
Let's start with the main change, the army stats are gone. In their place we are going to have units and units will make up your army when attacking other kingdoms.
Here you will see what units are currently available in your kingdom, what armies you have sent on a mission and what armies are enroute to your kingdom. Button on the top right, will bring you a menu to train more units.
Here you will see the combat stats of each unit, what they are strong against and what they are weak against. While it is not shown here, an unit can be strong or weak against multiple types of units. If a unit is strong against another unit they will do increased damage, if they are weak against an unit they will deal reduced damage. Training units will also cost some new resources we are adding to the game. Wood, Stone and Iron and some units will also require a consumable item to be able to be trained.
Well, new resources also means new stats. These stats will level like the Mine Level stat and produce resources like Mine Level stat. Four things that is different about these resources compared to Denar is that they do not go to a unclaimed pool and directly available to you. But also unlike denar, they are always at risk of being taken away during a raid. They do not have a multiplier stat that increase their production, and they require a new stat called Warehouse Level to determine the maximum you can store.
Consumables will drop from the Standard Chest, they will have their own rarities and drop chances. Higher rarity consumables will drop less often but will also have more charges to balance that out. When you train an unit that requires a consumable, it's charge will drop by 1 and when it reaches 0 it will be gone from your inventory.
Items will be another way to strengthen your units, going forward items will drop stats that are going to boost specific unit classes specific attributes. Like Archer Damage you see on the screenshot. We are going to replace army stats on your items, with these unit boosting stats.
Unfortunately, battle logs is one area we need to improve upon and inspiration have not struct us on how to improve it. So we are open to suggestions. Of course, we will continue to improve and polish the game after update goes live.
We also need to improve some things on alliance wars to better reflect the new way the fights are going to be fought. We made progress in this but we think we can do better.
Another thing we need to improve on is battle hall. But we are not sure what we are going to do with it. We might remove it altogether and let you attack from the player list.
Removing army stats were pretty fast on the backend, but as we started working on the frontend things slowed down. Army stats on frontend were much more tightly integrated, and the our fast pace on the backend gave us a bit off a false confidence.
We are sorry that this update took this long, but as you can see it pretty much touched every aspect of the game. We appreciate your patience and support and hope for your suggestions on how to improve things.
