Crypto-currency wasnt supposed to be some kind of dodgy online casino where you can win-big-lose-big, there, I said it!
Lets be honest 90% (probably more) of crypto transactions have absolutely nothing to do with currency, yet the whole idea was to give people digital cash that they could use to buy things, free of meddling from central authorities, to avoid the average person, the average business being rinsed by what we all we calling in 2008 'banks gambling with our money'. Ironic then that the cure has just devolved into the same behaviour, no?
Think Strategically
If we as crypto-currency enthusiasts are going to make the world where everyone has access to resilient global currencies that are free to use and safe from devaluation, we actually need to be able to spend them somewhere that sells things we want to buy. All the while crypto is tainted like some kind of back-street gambling den, that is going to be a really hard sell to mainstream businesses. We already have the problem of fake news about criminal and terror activities, every news shock like ICO bans, just causes more long term distrust in our core market; average people, average business.
Wake Up And Smell the Coffee
Your average person in the street is lead by the MSM, in fact most of them dont even engage with terms like MSM, to them its just news. If you want them to trust crypto more than they trust fiat (thats the basic premise), you have to show them its not all get-rich-quick ponzi-style unregulated ICOs.
Time is Running Out
Big business are already turning block-chain to their own advantage with projects like Hyperledger, pretty soon they will have their own centralized system, and wont need the crypto-currency we all hold dear.
The Libertarians have brought us so far, but we need to let the whack-jobs ride off into their bizarre sunset, and get on with the business of MCGM, lets
Make Crypto Great Again
Go to your local shop-keeper/charity/business owner, tell them about crypto, tell them its:
Free of VISA/Mastercard/AMEX merchant fees
Free of exchange rates and spendable with suppliers/customers globally
Free of bank fees
Free of chargeback fraud
And for goodness sake keep the 'lets bring down the government' rhetoric to a bare minimum; most people just dont care.
Show them a mobile wallet, offer to make a real transaction for goods or services, go on, I dare you...
