Announced Wednesday in a blog post by product lead Rueben Bramanathan, the Coinbase Index Fund is now "open for investments" with a minimum required investment of $250,000.
The fund will track the value of assets currently listed on Coinbase and will be weighted by market capitalisation. As per a recent Tweet by the company, this list of assets will soon include Ethereum Classic which will be listed in the "next few months".
By establishing an index fund, Coinbase is giving these crypto supporters a chance to invest in digital currencies without all the hassle that goes along with choosing which individual cryptos they think will do best.
