This is my second attempt at an introduction (really bad at these) so bear with me here.
I posted an introduction a few days back but it just wasn't well written and didn't seem to have any content in it. Another way to put it would be that it was half-assed. And indeed it was. I hadn't written anything interesting worth reading in it so I've decided to do it again. This time more openly and honestly.
Introduction
Hello guys! I'm a 24 year old who lives in Britain. I'm currently studying for my degree here. I love to play games on my PC, read, listen to music and watch movies when I am free. I also love hanging out with my buddies and eating pizza. Who doesn't, right? I like to make random programs if I feel bored. They are mostly random quote generators written in Python. I also like to write short stories and play RPG games. Although I'm a terrible writer, I enjoy doing it. I love Game Of Thrones and A Song Of Ice and Fire series. My favorite bands include Muse and Radiohead. I enjoy watching thriller movies like The Ghost Writer. I'm very fascinated by History. I think that everyone should know the basic history of the world because it not only makes us appreciate the sacrifices of others which have resulted in us being safe and sound in our homes but it also makes us an infinitely better person.
Crypto-currencies and Me
I was introduced to Bitcoin and crypto-currencies as a whole back in mid-2013 by a good friend. It was very fascinating to see the working of it all; how it spreads and grows. I've followed the crypto scene from then on. Saw the rise and fall of many coins. Cryptos have been steadily taking over the world secretly. Many major online retailers, shops and stores have started accepting Cryptos as a payment method. These include TigerDirect, Newegg, Steam and so on. I think this is a big win for the crypto community as a whole!
The man in the street does not know much about crypto-currencies and what they are. He doesn't even know if it exists! I think spreading awareness is the key to make crypto the future currency of the world.
Steem and Other Cryptos
Steem has been steadily gathering popularity and has started to emerge as a leading crypto. It's not just a crypto-currency. It's a social media platform. Think of it as a better version of Reddit. We are still in our infancy. We have a lot of ground to cover, lot of work to do. There is a long road ahead of us. But that road only leads to one thing. And that is, you guessed it. Success!
Steem introduces Steem Power which is very innovative in my opinion. It's a stake in the future of Steem which you and I hold. Like another Steemer said:
Come for Steem Dollars, stay for Steem Power.
I think that Steem has the potential to be the next big thing and I look forward to that happening.
For the time I've been here, I've seen nothing but overwhelming support for this whole project. If the whole community comes together, we have the potential to change the future. We have the kind of exposure others wish that they had so lets make the most of it.
