An interesting, and brief, interview with Cedric Dahl where he gives his opinion about the game theory in which a disruptive technology such as Bitcoin helps the power-less to gain some power relative to the powerful. In his scenario, the way the powerful attempt to thwart thee arrivistes is to join in the same game in an attempt to ... control it!
That last part is mine; Dahl believes that the entrance of the powerful nations into Bitcoin is just a matter of time. I just don't believe it is to make friends with their foes. Just look outside to a wider game where derivatives are designed precisely to speculate on Bitcoin making it more volatile in the process.
Encouraging those few countries left that are outside the central banking cartel to stake their wealth on a digital currency possibly made in the NSA is... bait!
We shall see.
