Most tech-savvy people these days have some sort of Ad-block installed on their browser to prevent them annoying adverts that pop up everytime you click something on a site. So how can you monetize your website without including pesky adverts?
Well, the answer is a new service by Coin Hive, that allows you to use the CPU of your website's traffic to mine cryptocurrency. This has been implemented by The Pirate Bay on their site to allow them to remove the adverts from their site. Coin Hive offers a captcha-like service where users need to solve a number of hashes in order to submit a form. This prevents spam while having the added benefit of earning you money.
This service can also be implemented in games to monetize them and offer rewards for the players. Coin hive boast a hash rate of around 90H/s on an Intel i7, which if true, could prove very profitable for someone who gains a lot of traffic.
