So here's the deal: COBINHOOD is on its last breath, about to go belly up. Its token has barely any volume and is at half its ICO price. In Q2 of this year, they were planning to launch their Decentralized Exchange Online, but apparently ran out of money and instead launched DEXON. Not only did they do a partnership with IDG for this to the tune of $20M, they also opened a private sale. And for all those who couldn't get into the private sale, they can always just buy COB — admins promise a DEX airdrop to COB holders.
After publishing our review, we tried to get in touch with the project's admins — radio silence. They also immediately deleted our review from their Telegram channel. Although 10 days later some guy with the same name as one of the team members did contact us (though he is not one of their admins). Here is what he wrote:
Thanks for posting your questions here. Unfortunately, I can only answer questions about consensus algorithm itself. Any thing about fee or governance council or fine should not be answered by me, since those are economic model and not the scope of my work. And some answers for those questions have not been disclosed yet.
(1) In your article, there are two pictures saying that DEXON is exactly like hashgraph. The first one is a DAG. But it looks similar because that's how every DAG looks like. If you draw NANO's blocklattice, or other projects that are using DAG, you will found all of them looks similar.
Just like every blockchain has similar chain structure, but has different consensus algorithm and mechanism from other project, what makes DEXON unique from hashgraph or NANO is the consensus algorithm we designed, and that makes a huge difference on performance and security level.
(2) The second picture is even funnier. Those data fields existed in DEXON block looks the same with hashgraph because hash, timestamp and transactions are must-have fields for almost every blockchain system. And if you look closely enough, the timestamps is an timestamp array in DEXON block, while timestamp is only one timestamp in hashgraph. There is a reason for that difference : )
Anyway, if you have any question about the algorithm itself, or still confusing about how DEXON, NANO and hashgraph are totally different from each other, feel free to ask.
(3) p.s. What popo meant is not that hashgraph "did not" handle fail-stop in it's simulation. He meant they simply "can not" handle that because there are some problems in there consensus algorithm.

Of course, we asked him all our questions. But forget about answers — he didn't even read the questions. Though, realistically, hard to imagine them coming up with any answers that would save them from the verdict.

Во втором квартале этого года они должны были запилить Decentralized Exchange Online, но видимо деньги уже закончились и они стартанули DEXON. Мало того, что они замутили под него партнерство на $20M с IDG Capital, так еще и открыли private sale. А для всех кто не может залететь на private sale, всегда есть возможность накупить COB, админы говорят, что его владельцам прилетит эйрдроп с DEX.
После публикации обзора мы попытались связаться с админами проекта - тишина. Сам обзор из своего телеграм канала они сразу удалили. Правда через 10 дней на нас вышел какой-то чувак, с таким же ником как у одно из членов команды проекта, но не админ канала. И вот что он написал:
Спасибо за то, что опубликовали здесь свои вопросы. К сожалению, я могу ответить только на вопросы связанные с алгоритмом консенсуса. На вопросы относящиеся к экономической модели ответить не могу, так как они находятся вне круга моей ответственности. А также некоторые вопросы пока еще не разглашаются.
(1) В вашей статье есть две картинки, говорящие о том, что DEXON практически как hashgraph. Первые из них - это DAG. Выглядят они одинаково, потому что все DAG выглядят одинаково. Если вы посмотрите на blocklattice NANO или других проектов использующих DAG, то вы увидите, что все они выглядят одинаково.
Точно так же как любой блокчейн имеет одинаковую структуру цепи, но имеет различия в алгоритме консенсуса. У DEXON уникальный алгоритм, который отличает его от NANO и hashgraph.
(2) Вторая картинка еще забавнее. Все поля данных находящиеся в блоке DEXON выглядят одинаково с hashgraph, потому что hash, timestamp и transactions являются необходимыми полями практически для любой блокчейн системы. И если вы посмотрите более внимательно, timestamps - это timestamp массив в блоке DEXON, тогда как timestamp - это только один timestamp в hashgraph. Этим они и отличаются :)
В любом случае, если у вас есть вопросы по алгоритму или осталось недопонимание между DEXON, NANO и hashgraph, не стесняетесь спрашивать.
(3) p.s. Popo имел в виду не то, что hashgraph "не обрабатывает" fail-stop в своей симуляции. Он имел в виду то, что они просто "не могут" их обрабатывать из-за проблем с их алгоритмом консенсуса.

- Хранит-то они массив, а вот использует DEXON медиану от всех timestamp, точно так же как это делает hashgraph.

Ну и конечно мы не постеснялись задать ему вопросы. Про ответы говорить не приходится, потому что вопросы он так и не прочел. Но даже ответы на вопросы их не спасут.
