Price predictions for bitcoin short-term:

As many of you can tell by looking at your crypto portfolios recently, bitcoin as not been doing that well. From a high in December of $20,000 to a low of around $5,800 just last week prices have been extremely hard to tell from a direction standpoint. However, the drop just yesterday, and today have been a good start as the meeting with the SEC was a lot better than a lot of people expected it would be. It went back up to around 8,300. Furthermore, as we all know, bitcoin is crazy volatile and has the potential to go exponential amounts in a matter of seconds. 

So this brings me to where I think bitcoin is heading from here. I think marks like the $30,000 are a little crazy for bitcoin. I think as we go through this first quarter of the 2018 year we will still face a ton of FUD. There is a possibility that we have a run up for a little while, but I am not so confident that another full bull run starts from her. For example, there is still to much unpredictable events good/bad. Good events in a way that many of these currencies have huge plans and releases for the first part of 2018, and could be very catalysts. Bitcoin has the implementation of segwit coming more and more. As coinbase plans to fully integrate it in the coming weeks. Bitcoin also has the lightning network to be excited for. Then bad events like more government regulations or even worse bans. At this point we might not be affected as much from China, as there position on crypto has become pretty clear. There are other countries that can also damage crypto and give FUD as well. India recently has been giving off a ton of FUD, and also countries like South Korea, and Japan with the recent 530 million dollar hack. Leading me to my next point that events such as huge hacks like the one that just happened in Japan can have a huge downside to the market. Luckily in my opinion that coincheck hack didn't change the markets as much, there are still plenty of vulnerabilities in cypto that need to be fixed. 

When looking at all of the outcomes that might become, at this point whether you are a analyst or just a normal person, it is almost too hard to tell. As it seems every morning I wake up, the market is either super green, or down in the dirt. Let me tell you, if you have been in crypto for a while now, then you know the memo and HODL your life through these coming months. Then if you are completely new, and possibly just lost a lot of money, let me tell you it will get better. Whether that is tomorrow, in weeks, in months, or even longer, just wait. You WILL get more profits than ever if you have a coin that is somewhat valuable, you just need to once again HODL. Fight Steemians, this is our territory! We are crypto, and we are the future. HODL.
