Imagine if you had a platform where developers could build the next Twitter, or Google or Amazon on blockchain technology allowing cross platform integration. We are not there yet, but Shift is a small technology company that has been working for at least 3 years on their prototype which they dub the New Web.
Shift ICO'd in spring 2016 and since has gradually increased from about 0.00005000 Satoshis to now over 0.00050000 Satoshis, more than a 1000% gain in less than 9 months. Not so much you might argue, since some coins have seen gains in the 10k% or even 100k%. But...
Here's where it gets interesting...
There's a developing trend in the blockchain tech world where stealth mode (working without making marketing splashes about every new development or team hire or other crap) has become a responsible means of doing business. The cowboys and horses are slowly being replaced by some order.
Shift has made very few announcements about their work until very recently, slowly bringing the company to the forefront of the crypto market.
- They've already announced a new website
- They've also said they will build this new website on top of the platform.
- This upcoming announcement is scheduled for the turn of the year (in a couple of days!), according to this discreet countdown twitter post
(again, very stealth work gives me confidence in this team)
So what's so great about Web 3.0?
To keep this analysis short, I will just say my bet is in the 1-5 year future, many people will become more and more interested in a service that allows for creation of decentralized websites, file storage, monetary transfers and perhaps much more!
Could the release of the new Phantom protocol and maybe a working model built on top of it via Shift's new website be the announcements? If so, what would this do to the market cap of Shift, currently around $200m?
