Times are hard for dreamers here in Steemit paradise so I need to find other ways to make some money without sacrificing my spirit in a full-time preppy corporate job I hate. I think I've come across this website through @sjennon's post some time ago, so I gave it a try. Basically, Earn.com is a service that lets you charge cryptocurrency in exchange for replying to or reading messages. The site's blurb is It's like LinkedIn Mail, except you get paid!.
I don't get a lot of emails from people wanting to get my attention as I'm not a CEO of some big company, Venture Capitalist, a Crypto celebrity investor or something. So who the hell would pay to make sure I opened the email if my time and attention are not in high demand, yet? For now, at least I get the usual surveys, ICO token sales, Token Airdrops and other promotions that let me earn $1 worth of Bitcoin for reading the email. Sure, what I earn here is not as grand as what I earn on Steemit (if that is right), but maybe if I leave that 0.0023 BTC and counting, there in the crypto space for a long time, it might grow exponentially, who knows? And what to lose? I guess it's better to have something stored and forgotten, that my accumulated crypto riches would be ready to surprise and make me happy someday.
Earn.com proclaims to be more than a website charging people for getting other people's attention through email. Soon there will be some 'Earnable Token' that can be acquired if you participate in the earn.com ecosystem. Not the typical ICO since you can't buy it straight away.
The vision is to establish a so-called paid ecosystem of correspondence. There's also an integration with Gmail if you want to bounce those pesky online marketers and spammers to your earn inbox. Requiring them to pay you first before they get your attention. Your Gmail contacts will be able to contact you normally while the unknown senders will be directed to your Earn.com profile and asked to pay.
If you are a startup founder, receiving an email that asks you to pay $20 for the other person to reply to your email can be quite annoying as well. Nobody wants to be bombarded with crappy emails and spam but monetizing this problem might not be a solution. Sure, celebrity investors will likely receive business proposals and investment pitches from thousands of dreamers out there. But a startup founder is a better business prospect than some random character spamming the emails of the rich guys.
Anyway, I'm quite happy that my earn.com tiny earnings add up to my tiny Bitcoin holdings. Tiny + tiny = better than nothing. And here I am getting some free Appics' coins.
Who already bought some XAP coins here by the way?
