We have seen incredible growth of cryptocurrency market in 2017. Bitcoin alone has 17.5x tell now from the $1000 price on new year. Ethereum opened the market with $7.98 price on 1st January. We have seen nearly 100x growth.
Litecoin was just $4.33 and is $311 at the time of writing. Ripple's $0.76 price tag may look innocent but it was just $0.006386 on 1 January; meaning 119x astronomical growth.
There was a flood of ICOs as well and many new coins were launched. Some of those coins have taken the cryptocurrency market by storm and are sittining in top 10-30 coins in the market cap. EOS is a big example. Cardano (ADA) is even bigger. OmiseGo (OMG) is a popular one too. WTC, PAY and ETHOS have made some huge gains.
There have been scams, comtroversaries and frauds too. And of course this and that fork of Bitcoin network. Chinese and banks have spread a lot of noise but we can see the cryptocurrency market is breaking all barriers and fast approaching the first trillion $ mark.
I think 2018 will be another great year for crytpocurrency. It will, I hope and think, separate good coins from bad one and only the good ones will thrive next year. What do you think?
