You know what I hate? I hate being slogged for $30.00 when I want to transfer money overseas. That’s what I hate. I live in Belize and have business in Australia and the US and a bank in Puerto Rico … I hate being slogged just for sending money between those places.
And when I pay with PayPal I get slogged with 5%... And Visa and Mastercard etc. slog with fees and percentages… any third party financial institution takes its pound of flesh!
Partly this is because they’re so old and cumbersome originating in the 1950 at the dawn of the ‘Jetset’ and ‘American Express’ era.. It was glamorous and it achieved international payments for the first time… so no one asked any questions, they were just jubilant.
But why do we still have these dinosaurs in this day of the Apple Watch and satellite communications? Well partly because they have been such a great money-making racket for the ‘Big Banks Cartels’.
But things are changing!
Now more and more establishments are accepting payment by crypto currency. Cryptos have no middleman so you are essentially your own bank in your pocket. But it is still a bit tricky for the average person who is not an early adopter. You can lose your money in a blink of an eye. Scary stuff!
But there is a new group, ‘Initiative Q’, that is developing a new worldwide payment system using a crypto token.. the ‘Q’ as a medium to facilitate payments… fees will be minuscule compared to today’s clunky systems.. you won’t even have to carry a piece of plastic around.. that is so 1980s.

So the folk at ‘Initiative Q’, are not just pretty faces… they have anticipated this ‘early adaptor conundrum’ that crypto currencies have as well… But they have solved it.
