On Friday, Starbucks announced a new digital currency project in partnership with Microsoft and the Bakkt platform. The Starbucks is one of the most famous cafes in the world, and the fact that Bettkin is the most popular digital currency has hit a wide range of news outlets on this announcement, expecting that the coffee shop will allow its users to buy products using digital currency.
On the other hand, this is just a misperception of what the Starbucks spokesmen said. The coffee shop does not want to provide direct payment service directly. The truth is that the cafe wants to help people spend their digital coins. The project underpinned by the above-mentioned partnership is the creation of a trading platform that allows people to convert their digital currency to US dollars, which they can then spend on Starbucks sites. Starbucks' role in the partnership as the main retailer is to advise in order to develop the application for this purpose . A spokesman for Starbucks wrote a clarification:
"We inform you that we do not accept payment of digital assets at Starbucks. Instead, we will create a platform that converts digital assets such as beta to US dollars, which can be used in Starbucks.
