Here we are in another cryptocurrency bear market. Queue all the usual complaints and hater rants, right? If you've been paying attention to these trends, you're probably already familiar with the cycles of volatility. While past performance is not proof of future earnings, we know there is a tendency for Bitcoin to take two steps forward and then one step back. Altcoins tend to respond to Bitcoin prices with even more extreme swings.
Step back and look at the fundamentals. HIVE is still a community where we each own our content, unlike Facebook and Twitter. We have a fast 3-second verification time, free transfers with even minimal resource credits, a sidechain network with dozens of tokenized projects, and more. None of that has changed.
The US dollar and foreign currencies are still built on fiat, backed by nothing but inertia and violence, and perpetually racing to inflate fast enough to keep up with the debt they inflict on us. Banks still freeze accounts and governments still seize assets over everything from real crimes to thoughtcrimes. Owning your finances remains a path to independence, and crypto still offers an opportunity despite the best efforts of political control freaks.
Meanwhile, we're still earning tokens on our posts. The dollar value may change, but the tokens still arrive daily to our wallets regardless of market cycles. Stake your HIVE to build more vote power, and save your HBD to earn interest. Don't get suckered in with the bear market reactions. Be proactive instead. Continue to hone your craft and create content to build the value you want the market to see when the fair-weather speculators burn out and the serious investors remain.
And, as always, if you're somehow still convinced that the sky is falling, you are always welcome to send your worthless holdings to me. I'll continue to write about whatever is on my mind and HODL! Some of my recent posts on diverse subjects:
Wrestling with Patriotism vs. Principles (politics, history, philosophy)
An Unholy Confectionery Abomination (a hopefully humorous look at sweets)
Books, Boba, and Baubles (library happenings and jewelry crafts)
Home-Made Counterfeit Char Siu (appropriating culture by botching a recipe)
Magic Monday: Callaphe, Tiny Leader (a likely-illegal deck list for a collectible card game)
Ammo Ambiguity (firearms, ammunition, and safety issues)
