1- Gemini Trust Company, LLC (Gemini), a cryptocurrency exchange and custodian, today launched Nakamoto, Ltd. (Nakamoto), a captive insurance company licensed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) to insure Gemini Custody™. Nakamoto — the world's first captive to insure crypto custody — allows Gemini Custody™ to increase its insurance capacity beyond the coverage currently available in the commercial insurance market. This insurance solution gives Gemini Custody™ $200 million in insurance coverage — the largest limit of insurance coverage purchased by any crypto custodian in the world.
2 - Turkey has been pushing blockchain technology very aggressively, especially since last year. For example, BeInCrypto reported in July of last year that the government was actively working on releasing its own ‘digital money’ backed by its central bank. It was part of the government’s most-recent 11th Development Plan which also seeks to make Istanbul into a global mega-city for finance. It’s unclear whether or not Konya’s ‘City Coin’ will be incorporated into this plan, but it seems likely.
