Some adantages of cryptocurrency
- Low transaction fees
- The potential for Sharding and off-chain transactions to contain mining costs
- The benefits of a platform like Ethereum to include and implement business processes
- An immutable and traceable ledger that bypasses manipulation by governments that simply print more fiat currency
- The intrinsic ability/ advantage to handle micropayments and transactions, especially in the third world.
- The real need for an alternative to banks in the third world
- Any fiat currency and gold and cryptocurrency is dependent on the acceptance and confidence of its users in it as a store of value, so why is fiat any better - especially when governments fail?
I don't pretend to be an economist, but I sure trust geeks like Buterin more than politicians like Trump or McConnell. The real important question is who should set value - the crowd or the old guard.
