Ripple is a pre-mined cryptocurrency which allows worldwide banks to exchange money to each other more efficiently and quickly. Most of the time, when International wire transfers between banks it costs from $5 to more than $50, plus foreign-exchange charges of 0.25% to 3% and "landing fees" of as much as $20. I think ripple is the most reliable long-term investment compared to bitcoin, dash and litecoin because it has whole bank system backing it up. You have to remember that decentralized cryptocurrencies have a long way up on the road before they take over the world. There are currently around 14,600 +/- 1500 banks worldwide. Five-year-old Ripple (XRP) is currently connected to 75 banks, but 15 of them are considered to be one of top 50 banks in the world. These include, Bank of America and Royal Bank of Canada, has increased in value by 40 times this year alone. According to CNBC, 100 billion XRP are in existence, each priced 26 cents today.
100 billion XRP sounds too much, doesn't it? When I first saw it first, I didn't even click on it because of its excessive amount of market capacity. The San Francisco firm has promised to lock-up 88% of those funds, or about $14bn worth, in a series of smart contracts that briefly make 1bn XRP available each month for a period of at least four-and-a-half years. Because of this reason, XRP will boom soon and I think it will be at least worth 1$ by the end of 2017.
