I very rarely write about cryptocurrencies (because I am still a newbie to this crazy world, trying to wrap my head around it! :D) but I will make an exception today as there is something that every Steemian with reputation of 30 and more should be aware of.
Now this thing has been around for a couple of days already so most of you have probably got to know about that but there still might be some who have not stumbled on this airdrop so let me provide you with some basic info about it.
There is a promo on cryptocurrency called Byteball, created for Steemit users exclusively. The airdrop is based on the following reward system:

70+...............................$160
The only thing you need to do to claim your free Bytes (that can be then changed for Steem or any other cryptocurrency) is to download the Byteball wallet HERE and follow a simple guide that can be found for example HERE. You will get half of your reward immediately and the second half after exactly one year.
Another cool thing about this airdrop is that they actually have a very attractive referral program. Once you install the wallet, you will need a little amount of Bytes to cover the registration fee so you will need someone to send you those Bytes. And that´s the referral! I will be happy to send you those Bytes so that you can finish the registration and get your free Bytes as I will then get a reward for that :)
So once you install the wallet, go to "receive", copy your wallet address (the long code consisting of letters and numbers) and send it to me PRIVATELY ON THE STEEMIT CHAT. Why privately? Because some users have already created bots that are scanning the whole platform for the wallet addresses and once they detect them, they immediately send the funds there so that their owners can claim the referral rewards. I have already claimed my Bytes and got some as the referral rewards too so I can confirm this thing is real. Also, if you are close to advancing to a next tier in the reward rank (when you are at 49 or 59 rep., for example) it might be worth waiting a few days until you get to the next tier as the bonus will be twice as higher then.
