Hey Steemerinos!,
Over the last several weeks with the dip in the market and the volatility of the market being so calm I've been taking some time trying to find the next cheap coin to accumulate and hodl for long-term gains.
Being available on multiple exchanges at under a penny a piece and with such a promising platform, not to mention moving up in the rankings being currently ranked in the low 20s in highest market cap (right behind Steem) AND having been at roughly double it's current value before the correction, I think Sia is the one.
The total capitalization is still so small that people haven't really caught on to the usefulness of blockchain tech. yet but when bigger companies start recognizing the advantages of this kind of system for cloud storage, I believe it will catch on in a big way.
To store a terabyte of files on the Sia platform would currently cost around $2 a month worth of SC, which is $15 cheaper than Storj coin (their only competitor) and 18 dollars a month cheaper than the cheapest non-blockchain cloud storage.
This leaves a lot of room for the coins to go up in value WITHOUT Sia adjusting their price for storage and still be the best choice.
In addition, Sia seems more user friendly for the end user than Storj.
(Details on pricing and more can be seen here - siahub.info)
More info can be found at the Reddit page
Here is a recent YT video that I found interesting that compares sia to storj and touches on some of the things I mentioned here.
I've been holding some from before the correction but I'm going to be averaging in some more as long as it stays below 2 cents (USD)
Id be interested in knowing what the Steem fam thinks about this one and if enough people are interested, we could organize a pump-and-hodl operation like HighOnCoins did with chaincoin, but with a more practical (IMHO) coin.
Looking forward to hearing what you all think about Sia!
