There's always a vision phase in a revolutionary new technology. Then reality sets in. Then comes the slow building of the technology to get products available to the early adopters. - Paul Borrill
People are given something along the adoption curve that sets their imagination alight; the earlier they join the wider the field to conquer.
Thanks to cryptocurrencies there is a massive mostly unseen tsunami of technological disruption forming at the moment: "The internet of money" how it is often called.
We are nowhere near the early adoption majority phase yet, because it's still really hard to use cryptocurrency. Yet, joining that movement before its mass adoption harbors extraordinary advantages.
Here's to the great benefits of being earlier than early adopters!

We're pioneers!
It's not only the possibility to say 'I was one of those' what makes early adoption so delightful.
Networks such as Steem provide their first members with the unique opportunity to actively participate in its design progress. Early adopters are those who have a considerable influence on the further development of the product. The bugs they discover and the potential they reveal is of extraordinary value.
We're more than beta testers.
Just think about these benefits of being an early Steem adopter:
- Investors: Buy in when the Steem price is still relatively low and secure an equity stake that will experience a considerable rise in value in the long run.
- Developers: Discover business ideas in the very beginnings, team up with the smartest members of the network before others do and build new apps on the blockchain during it's fast-growing period.
- Authors: Gain best visibility for your content within a still manageable amount of competitors, discover and conquer your niche and build up a solid brand right from the start.
- Curators: Discover and support potential influencers right from the start, build a profitable curation strategy and ensure the best ROI in the long term.
We don't swim with the tide, we are the tide :-)

The Lunatic Fringe
There is a missing piece here and it is within the 2.5% innovators slice. It is the lunatic fringe, the very first people to start using the new technology. The lunatic fringe is what gets the word out to the early adopters. The lunatics are ones that prove its use and canβt shut up about it (ββΏβ). - Leon Gaban (This is the early days of cryptocurrency)
That is us! Me writing this and you reading it. Right?
To be honest I accidentally became an early adopter of Steem.
Usually I'm not the typical person that really needs to be one of these lighthouse customers that camp in front of a mobile technology store in order to immediately purchase a new smartphone version after its release.
In one of my last blog posts I confessed that I'm still using my iPhone 5 and actually don't have any problem in doing so.
Guess when I discovered the brandnew Instagram feature called Boomerang? Today! Haha - I told you: before joining Steem I was a technological dinosaur in all ranks.
@surfermarly discovering Boomerang - welcome to the 21st century, Marly! :-)
Early adopters have many faces
Just look around you!
Crypto people don't fit into any scheme, we're as diverse as humanity itself.
There are business men, entrepreneurs, investors, then we have creative people, artists, designers, filmmakers, also influencers, former youtubers, communicators, as well as developers, miners, programmers, and then we have anarchists, freedom fighters, anti-government people that even blog post from being in jail (to be honest that group scares me a bit sometimes :-))
The list could be endless.
No matter who we are or where we come from, we've got one thing in common: we're all here!
And in a couple of years we'll tell them:
It was fun seeing the early adopters arriving then...:-)
Happy steeming!
