Asia Business, an influential financially focused media outlet in South Korea, has reported that Kakao, one of the two largest internet companies that run KakaoTalk, KakaoPay, KakaoStory, KakaoTaxi, and a subsidiary that conducts larger cryptocurrency exchange UpBit, will integrate crypto exchange rates by 2018 .
Importance of Kakao
An exclusive coverage released by Asia Business showed that Kako's fintech application, KakaoPay, which registered 3 million users within its debut month, will integrate crypto curves into its local application to allow users to send and receive crypto curves. Kakao is also planning to launch its own crypto currency, similar to Binance Coin's model, within this year.
When KakaoPay integrates crypto curves like bitcoin and Ethereum, all other Kakao apps will be compatible with cryptocurrency payments. If Kakao pursues its plan to integrate crypto curds in KakaoPay by the end of 2018, millions of KakaoTaxi, KakaoTalk and other Kakao applications will soon be able to exploit crypto curves.
