We’ve decided to dedicate an entire faction to the inspiration that is Cryptokitties. They single-handedly birthed the crypto gaming industry and that is not lost on us. Without CK there would be no Tides Of Magic.
So we're paying homage and adding a bit of a spin on kitties. But we’ll try and keep as much flavor as possible. We even named our Kitty habitat Kitty Clock.
One thing you may have noticed is that they all have British accents (or terrible impersonations of what a British accent would be from an American game developer.)
We wanted to mimic the breeding nature of CryptoKitties, so if 3 kitties are on a habitat each additional kitty played brings an extra kitty into play. The more kitties that are present on the habitat the stronger the extra kitty is.
Kitties are the only faction that can be pulled from a blue pack of cards, well with the exception of one singular card.
A Rare creature Baaam, the genesis sheep, which was inspired by the genesis cryptokitty, participates in every faction. This could possibly be one of the two most expensive cards in the game. Its gameplay potential is huge. It can either be put on a habit to be one of any needed faction or it could be played to pick up all faction effects. Also, it’s the cutest card we have bar none.
Also present in the blue packs is the only universal habitat. Upon creation of a deck, most habitats are available without expressly owning them. All of them except 3.
Now the universal habitat, Universal Convoy (all the way on the right) is the only legendary habitat. The reason why is because it produces universal mana. Making any spell from any school of magic playable, and triggering any and every faction effect. This card will likely be the most sought after card in our game.
Don't forget, kitties are a perfect pair well with the blue ideology which is a lot of counterplay. Which we touched in our kill card post here.
Kitties can swarm the field and chump block a lot of big baddies.
Blue packs are really worth the money.
