For what it is worth, here is where my head is at right now with Crypto including positions, notions, strategies, outlook etc. It has been quite a journey from learning what bitcoin is, to where I am now a LONG year later. The vets can weigh in with some advice, peers can share their thoughts, and the new folks can hopefully leverage this info towards their own education and profit.
My Personal Operation: My overall operation is a mix of GPU mining investment, daytrading for short term profit, core investment for the long haul, a nice Steemit business, and hours a day spent looking for opportunities the Blockchain will have for those looking to innovate and profit.

GPU mining - https://www.reddit.com/r/gpumining/ The difficulty has gone off the charts in GPU mining meaning there are more miners and expensive technology flooding the playing field making each day less and less profitable to mine. The game has really changed in that regard even over the last 3 months and been compounded by the prices of these GPUs going through the roof. I would be ahead of the game if I sold my GPUs now and cashed the profit into Crypto but I like the slow and steady, diversification, and technology side of mining.
Core Investment - My initial investment was in ETH https://www.ethereum.org/ and BTC https://bitcoin.org/en/ ......like many others. I still believe in them as a strong part of the core as leaders in the space, but have diversified and added TRON https://tron.network/enindex.html, EOS https://eos.io/, Lumens https://www.stellar.org/, Litecoin https://litecoin.com/, Monero https://getmonero.org/ and Ethereum Classic https://ethereumclassic.github.io/. Working on getting a closer look at Bitshares https://bitshares.org/ .

- Day Trading - has evolved from HODLing to selling the peaks and valleys, to assigning a portion of my investment to a trading fund where I scalp daily for profit. Frustrating and fun for sure but it makes me feel more in control rather than at the mercy of the volatility. The coins I have come to know and love to scalp are also parts of my core but I focus on Litecoin, Ethereum Classic and Bitcoin.

- STEEMit/opportunity - Because of a recommendation by @sequentialvibe, I discovered STEEMit and I have really gotten to like the proof of witness style "mining" the STEEM crypto. A much better use of my time and content than Facebook and a great community. I class this as one of those blockchain opportunities and am constantly on the hunt to add worthwhile blockchain projects to my crypto business. What will be next?

The Market in General
Having seen some ups and downs (none as down as this mind you though we are still 4 times the price of BTC from when I started paying attention) and the chart watching has prepared me fairly well for the pumps and corrections. Conversations around the #cryptopub (neat daily discussion and group of crypto heads) seems to come back to the fact that we saw the correction coming (off the silly parabolic FOMO growth in December) but never expecting it to correct this hard. More lessons learned by my Steemit peers and hopefully crypto investors as a whole will temper the greed/impulsiveness and stabilize the growth and adoption of Crypto and Blockchain.
Right now, Bitcoin is leading the way for all crypto in the form of finding solid support and trader/investor confidence. It does seem like it is taking its sweet time to return to Bullish ways but that is a good thing. First because a slower reasonable rise will make it more sustainable, and fend off impulsive, greed-based FOMO/selloff. Second, because slowing the transition to Early Majority means more time for the land-grab by us early adopters. The last quarter of 2017 made me feel like I had joined too late and missed the opportunity for the most part. I am relishing this correction and however long we have til the next larger wave of investors/adopters join the fray.

Neat Things
- Palmpay - http://palmpay.io/ FREE decentralized point of sale system for small businesses to accept crypto....NOW
- Litepay - https://www.litepay.us/ accept and use Litecoin to buy real stuff!
- https://www.steemit.com https://d.tube/ https://dlive.io/ https://zappl.com/ https://steepshot.io/ https://busy.org/ - all disruptors of facebook, youtube, twitter and microblogging technologies.
- Cryptokitties - https://www.cryptokitties.co/ Kind of silly but you get the idea of what else will come as neat applications
TLDR:
The purpose of this post is to share where I am NOW and have folks discuss their head-space and strategy. As of right now, I believe we are setting up for a nice bull run and fantastic summer. This will make for some good gains on my core HODL investments, provide me some fun in the meantime with scalping the consolidation, and give me time to grab more land. I am leaning more towards really digging into the whitepapers of the coins/tokens that have real world financial application. I am also reading everything I can about the value propositions of selected platforms and looking for other Blockchain opportunities that are viable for small time entrepreneurs.
I plan on leveraging profit into buying freedom. Using it as fuel to fund the cutting out of futile and frustrating old skool job-related stress and silliness. Such a great concept to leverage if you are an entrepreneur already. Such a great opportunity if you are not and would like to become one.
- Advice to new people - Take that first step, sign up for an account on an exchange that lets you buy some crypto and invest a small amount. Enough to make vest yourself but not enough to make it painful if it is all lost. Get some skin in the game and then learn as much or as little as you want. It is good for your brain and could be great for your portfolio! Also, join steemit.com for free and ditch facebook and make money!
