I wanted to share a few of my thoughts about Banner and Text Ad advertising.
There are a lot of advertising sites out there at allow members to use these type of ads and it is my opinion that you should use them. But use them properly.
You ask "WHY? The click through rate is so low?"
That's true it is low, but these are very targeted clicks. The person clicking your link is obviously interested it what you are showing them or they wouldn't click on the link or banner.
There are some things you should avoid though.
First of all, banner farms are a total waste of time. You know those sites that have 8 to 10 or even more banners on them. Nobody is going to click your banner. The exception may be those viral banner sites where you need to click 6 to 8 banners and enter a code before you can join.
The other thing about using Banner and Text Ads is the target website of your ad. Send your prospect directly to your sales page! They have already expressed interest in your product or service with just the act of clicking. Do not make your potential customer jump through a bunch of hoops to get to the main sales page!!!
