In 2010, 74 percent of the population came under power from 57 percent to 2015. Now 80 percent of the country's electricity is getting electricity. At present, (July, 2017) power generation capacity is 13,596 megawatts and maximum production is 9741 MW (27 May, 017). The highest production in 2008 was 4036 MW. Government plans for generating power
According to (PSMP 2010), electricity generation will be increased to 34,000 MW by 2030. Uninterrupted supply of subsidized domestic gas (Tk 80 / mmcf), the cost of production of electricity is Tk 2.53 per unit. Now, with the benefit of the tax waiver, every unit generates electricity at Feni's Taka at Tk 7. Now the average cost of the government in every unit of power generation in combination of various energy is more than six rupees.
