With Venezuela hot in the news, it's important to understand the underlying root cause of WHY this is happening. A narrative is being pushed to make us believe in a twisted version of 'reality' in order to justify certain actions. What most people accept as a 'reality', is often an unreality that is socially engineered and induced into the public consciousness.

For this round of the #deepdives contest I will cover parts of the covert warfare employed to overthrow foreign nations. Often, this is done because of coveted resources, such as oil.
This post will look at an email sent to Hillary Clinton about such a purpose with respect to Libya. It's found in the Hillary Clinton Email Archive, as emailid 11647, and titled "H: LOTS NEW. FRENCH ECONOMIC GRAB/LEVY/Q & OBL/AQ BASE IN ALGERIA. SID". It's a correspondence between Sidney Blumenthal and Hillary Clinton.
Sidney Blumenthal
A little backstory on Sidney Blumenthal and the Clintons. Blumenthal has a long history with the Clintons. According to Wikipedia:
He is a former aide to President Bill Clinton; a long-time confidant of Hillary Clinton, formerly employed by the Clinton Foundation; and a journalist, especially on American politics and foreign policy.
That should indicate he has a deep allegiance to the Clintons and their elite political agenda. He's been known to be an attack dog for the Clintons, earning the epithet of "Sid Vicious." The propensity to twist and spin information to favor the Clintons was expressed by Dick Morris, former adviser to the Clintons, when he said: "If [Bill Clinton] is caught shoplifting for the tenth time, Hillary would have Sidney blame the store’s cameras."
He reportedly spread anti-Obama stories to aid propping up the image of Hillary Clinton. The Obama administration even blocked him from working on Hillary Clinton's staff when she became Secretary of State. His presence was seen as "too divisive, even poisonous". He ended up at the Clinton Foundation after that, and sent about 25 emails to Hillary about Libya in 2011 and 2012.
Russiagate
And recently, it's suspected he is behind the push for a Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy investigation by the FBI known as "Russiagate", which turned up nothing in the end, because it was all lies to begin with. The only purpose was to smear Trump, and it wasted $17 million dollars trying to do so.
Hillary Clinton is again the real criminal to investigate when it comes to scandals with Russia. The Clinton Foundation is a criminal syndicate that uses false charity status to launder money and engage in shady deals, like the Uranium One sale to the Russian nuclear agency Rosatom. But the U.S. government isn't trying to nail her to the floor with actual RUssian influence and corruption, are they? Hillary has her tentacles reaching into the Deep State and gets away with shit while sending attack dogs on her rivals, like Trump.
Benghazi and the Secret Email Server
The 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya resulted in Hillary being called to testify to the House committee in 2015, which exposed her secret unsecured private email server. This was a violation of U.S. laws. Classified and top secret files were being stored there, illegally. She was subpoenaed for evidence, and then proceeded to destroy about 33,000 emails. Anyone else would have faced criminal charges for these actions.
So this brings us back to #deepdives and WikiLeaks, with her leaked emails from her secret server.
Supporting the Overthrow of Governments to Secure Lucrative Deals for Mega Corporations
"Sid Vicious" sent Hillary a "confidential" email on May 5, 2011.
In the email, he details how the French government, acting through the French Air Force, was sending 9 tons of medical supplies to the Western-backed Transitional National Council (TNC):
...bringing medical and other humanitarian supplies to the TNC led rebels in Benghazi, using civilian aircraft. The flights began on April 13 with a cargo including 9 tons of medical supplies.
The TNC was the 'rebel' organization backed by the U.S. and other nations to facilitate the regime change and take-down of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Blumenthal also mentions the French bringing in "representatives of major French corporations, as well as officers of the French General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), all of whom are looking to establish working relationships with the rebel leaders as they move toward becoming the government of Libya."
This is exposing how the states (France in this case) supporting the overthrow of regime change send in their mega corporations to land lucrative deals with the new puppet government being supported.
In the case of Libya, there were of course oil companies representatives, among others:
The initial flight included executives from the French oil company TOTAL, the large construction firm VINCI and the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company N.V. (EADS). The aircraft for the operation are provided by AIRBUS, which is a subsidiary of EADS. Subsequent flights have carried representatives from the conglomerate THALYS and other large French firms, all with close ties to the government of President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The political elite and the business elite are working hand-in-hand to secure deals in nations in which they help to overthrow the current political regime. Blumental continues to explain how it works:
This operation is the idea of Bernard Henri Levy, a private advisor to Sarkozy, who has been involved with the Libyan rebels since the beginning of unrest in February 2011. According to these knowledgeable individuals, while no contracts were signed in the first series of meetings, Levy arrived again in Benghazi on April 22nd, and obtained the signature of the appropriate TNC leaders on a Memorandum of Agreement, establishing the fact that French firms will receive favorable consideration in all future business matters. According to knowledgeable individuals, Levy, speaking in polite terms, made it clear to the TNC officials that they owed a debt to France for their early support, and that Sarkozy needed something tangible to show to the leaders of France's business and political communities in return. Both sides agreed to handle the agreement discreetly for the time being, not wanting to anger other countries involved with the rebels.
While the events in Libya and Venezuela differ, the underlying motivation to support regime change in order to secure resources and deals for Western-based mega corporations, is the same. Different methods are used, but the goal is to get rid of less-than-favorable governments who don't do enough for U.S. interests, by undermining them and helping to overthrow them. This is exactly what has been happening in Syria.
The U.S. and other Western nations are looking to secure more resources for their host nations. They support or engineer regime changes in order to secure their own national power, or the financial power of corporations that supplement their national power.
