The crypto-world is filled with alt-coins. At this time, there are more than 800 alt-coins.
A couple of months ago, there was a tremendous BOOM in some alt-coins. The reason for the boom on these alts, was the fact that these coins claimed to offer anonymous payments. This resulted in these coins being integrated into Dark markets where buyers and sellers treasure their anonymity.
Of course, one must guard against calling anon coins "criminal" coins. People think that because coins claim to be anonymous, and are used on dark markets, that only criminals and shady characters would use these coins. If that is the argument leveled against these coins, then the same argument can of course be leveled against the US Dollar.
