Alankomaat is the fourth MSX demo created in 2000 by the Finnish Bandwagon team. The Finnish title means "The Netherlands". It's also the title of the music release made in 1998 by the Dutch pop band The Nits. On the graphical side, it can be viewed as a deeper exploration of the Machinery part from Eläköön Vapaus, revisited in Atselous with the Lieves ! Tuore team.
The different parts are under the form of MSX-DOS files that you can even run apart, but of course, it's better to launch the complete demo. Besides, all parts require to call the correct file to get the full show on your screen and some parts need to launch first the decompression tool !
Launching of this tool gives a black screen. So, if you don't want to type the next command as a blind man, it's recommended to use BAT files (I've added such files on the DSK version).
Additional difficulty : this tool is actually embedded in the first part of the demo. To run apart the other parts, you need the first version of this tool, TE.COM, coming from Merituulen Karaisemat. For your comfort, I've added this file to the DSK version.
I've tried again to guess the names of the different parts.
1 - INT1 INT1.DAT : Intro - Machinery 2
2 - a) TE : decompression tool - b) S2 RFACE.SC2 : Visage Of Fear - c) PL5 BURR.SMP : Random
3 - a) TE : decompression tool - b) INT2 INT2.DAT : Machinery 3 (including Wizard In Trouble)
4 - a) TE : decompression tool - b) FL3 BFL.SC2 : CreditsThe last screen is interlaced in screen 2, that's why it's flickering a little. As it is bearable, I don't have used the blueMSX feature allowing to blend consecutive frames (it will be very useful in other demos !).
Video created with the great blueMSX emulator !
