The Rose

For the DCC DerangedCoin Contest, hosted by @boyerobert, the theme was CASTING SHADOWS. And I found a beautiful rose for that.
One of the songs that I have always loved, but that since 2007 brings back a little sad memories is The Rose from Bette Midler.
I really really love the song. But it's also one of the songs that was played with the cremation of my mom. And ever since that day ... I can not hear this song without feeling sad for a little moment. Even though it has been a long time since Mom died, the loss has not decreased. And still there are times when I think, "Could I just share this with her".
This song sometimes makes me sad, but sometimes ... like today, it makes me happy again. Because at a moment when I miss her, suddenly, out of nowhere ... is a rose. And then it is again a sign that after all these years she is still at my side. And that makes me feel close to me for a moment. And know ... "It's good".
So for you mom ...
The Rose!
Some say love, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower, and you, its only seed
Its the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance
Its the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance
Its the one who won't be taking, who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose
