Das Gute liegt oft so nah, sagt man - und man hat recht, wenn man das sagt.
Wir haben zum Beispiel letztes Wochenende, unweit von unserem Zuhause, der Saarschleife bei Orscholz im Saarland, einen Besuch abgestattet.
Hier gibt es seit einigen Jahren auch diesen wunderbaren Baumwipfelpfad, welchen ich wirklich jedem empfehlen kann.
Good things are often so near, they say - and they are right when they say that.
Last weekend, for example, we paid, not far from our home, a visit to the Saarschleife near Orscholz in Saarland.
For some years now there is also this wonderful treetop path here, which I can really recommend to everyone.
Ich hatte als Kind die Saarschleife mit meinen Eltern besucht und war damals schon beeindruckt von der Aussicht. Jetzt, mit dem Baumwipfelpfad und dem eindrucksvollen Aussichtsturm, in welchen der Pfad mündet, ist der Besuch umwerfend und die Aussicht wahnsinnig.
As a child I had visited the Saar Loop with my parents and at that time I was already impressed by the view. Now, with the treetop path and the impressive lookout tower into which the path leads, the visit is stunning and the view awesome.
Um dort hin zu gelangen muss man allerdings ungefähr einen Kilometer des Pfades in luftiger Höhe absolvieren, was allerdings riesig Spass macht. Überall unterwegs gibt es Stationen, wo man Neues entdecken und einiges über die Natur und den Wald lernen kann.
To get there, however, you have to complete approximately one kilometre of the trail at a lofty height, which is a lot of fun. Everywhere along the way there are stations where you can discover new things and learn something about nature and the forest.

The barrier-free treetop path winds 1,250 metres through beech, oak and Douglas fir trees in the direction of the Saarschleife. Der Aussichtsturm an sich ist ein architektonisches Highlight. Man kann nur staunen über dieses bemerkenswerte Bauwerk. Ich bin kein Architekt, kann mir aber vorstellen, dass die Statik dieser Konstruktion eine ganz besondere Herausforderung war. Aber schaut Euch selbst diese Bilder an:
The lookout tower itself is an architectural highlight. One can only be amazed at this remarkable building. I am not an architect, but I can imagine that the statics of this construction was a very special challenge. But look at these pictures for yourself:
Die Aussicht auf die Saarschleife ist einfach nur grandios.
The view of the Saar loop is simply magnificent.
Vielleicht besuchst Du ja auch einmal das schöne Saarland und bist dann in der Nähe der Saarschleife und des Baumwipfelpfades in Orscholz. In diesem Fall kann ich Dir zu dem Besuch dieser tollen Attraktion nur raten.
Maybe you'll visit the beautiful Saarland and then you'll be near the Saar loop and the treetop path in Orscholz. In this case I can only recommend you to visit this great attraction.
Pinocchio (und andere Märchenfiguren) tummelten sich, in Form von Strohpuppen, auch in der Umgebung des Baumwipfelpfades.
Pinocchio (and other fairy tale figures) also romped around the treetop path in the form of straw dolls.
