Praise where praise is due
There are a number of fine Admins which it has been my pleasure to work with, in my capacity as Human Resources Admin, on the Devcoin Project.
In my opinion one of our newer admims deserves a special mention. If there was an Admin of The Month Award he would be deserving of it. 😎
DevCoin - A brief history
@Devcoin is one of the original alt coins which is a bi-product of Bitcoin mining. That is, when mining Bitcoins the same mathmatics will find and mine Devcoins in that process. So it shares the security afforded by the Bitcoin Network.
Its original mandate was to be used to help reward Open Source Programmers. Over time, as more non-programmers were drawn to the project, the idea to reward content creators began to take shape. The result was the creation of DevTome.
DevTome in a nutshell
DevTome was an idea to use the Wikipedia model, much like STEEM chose the social media model, to reward content creators.
Content creators are paid in shares from the DevCoin Reward Pool by word counts of their submissions to DevTome.
Introducing @develCuy
What @develCuy has done has introduced another layer of rewards from @devcoin through merged mining of DevCoin with STEEM; or #DevSTEEM as it has come to be known.

A match made in Crypto Heaven
@develCuy showed great insight to grasp how DevCoin and STEEM made such a wonderful match; almost counterpoints to each other.
As mentioned, where STEEM has choosen the social media model as a means of reward distribution, DevCoin chose the Wikipedia model.
They both produce about the same amount of coins on a yearly basis and compliment each other with one being Delegated Proof of Stake and the other being Proof of Work.
This is an exciting new step for DevCoin as we bring the two communities of STEEM and DevCoin together through merged mining to offer increased rewards to content creators.
