A Fool's Errand?
Language Enhancement for Proof of Brain.blog and Ecency
I think all sites should read the language preference from the headers the server sends to the browser to determine the language. I wanted to see automatic language detection in Ecency and the POB dot BLOG site sites but for technical reasons, I couldn't make this work in a bug-free way.
It really is academic as most users can simply change the language on first login and leave it there. When I was going down that road it seemed like the server side rendering would render for Yandex, and cache that rendered part, because people started reporting and I noticed that while using the site in English some of the buttons had Cyrillic text! The missing part must be somewhere the code is comparing the URL without the language and serving up something meant for Yandex to those who speak other languages. I always thought having to set the language manually was clunky, but it is a lot better than not being able to at all.
Letting Pay Guide My Work
The problem with only doing what someone is paying you for, is you only necessarily get short term gains. You also don't always work to the long term benefit of yourself or your descendants.
Using this mode of motivation, I would have shutdown the ProofofBrain.blog site as soon as the funding stopped but I do enjoy my own site. I finally put into user logging on my site which lets me separate the bot traffic from real users. I have a small number of users for this site.
User Guided Development
I doubt I am going to get people to move from a free model to a premium model and advertising is dead.
Future Ideas for Proof of Brain.Blog
- Escrow Transfers (for Hive and HBD)
- Real time Chat
- Blockchain Bets
- Realtime vote count update while viewing a post.
Would you become a regular user with one of these features?
Would people like to see betting integrated in order to enforce bets at the blockchain level? Escrow payments have real world applications. Real Time textbase chat (like I.R.C. but with a web client) would be nice. I could chat with the users that log in.
