Today I re-realized the value of not jumping ahead too much. "Re-realized" because it's a lesson that has been long coming but is still working its way into the core of my awareness. SLOOOOOOOWLY :)
Similar to the merit of patience I find that I often think about things, actions and choices ahead of me way too early, to the point that it becomes a giant, stifling mind-cluster that is making me static and immobile, that is slowing me down and that eventually leads me to question anything I am doing or could be doing to a degree that is frustrating and even scary.
So rather than trying to make "the right choice" I have started to act on impulse more and more, or rather: To walk a fine balance between impulsive action and thought-out execution of ideas. Going too far in either direction is really not helpful for staying in the flow of things, and with the rhythm of life. To try and stay in the "Goldilocks" time window of flow. OR something to that effect...
Staying close to the moment in everything I do has a huge calming and soothing effect because it will leave more room and capacity to adjust to changing circumstances. It's like the less I try to project into the near future (beyond say an hour or two) the more I find free RAM available to react to unforeseen changes in the development of the day.
It sounds rather trivial if I read back what I wrote here but it has been a really satisfying start into a new year today, precisely because I tamed my ego when it wanted to press forward with plans and ideas, and at the same time I managed to not get stuck in inaction and hesitance to make a choice, to forge a plan or to think ahead.
Balance really seems to be the key for everything. It's awesome to see how much I got done in one day without this constant obsession with structuring it through all the way before I even started. Rather I started soon'ish after the impulse came and got done with the respective action or chore long before pondering of inaction could ever set in.

God I hope I won't forget again and realpse into mind-mania tomorrow morning. Ahahaha.
