…continued… from part 1 and part 2.
Naturally, both set of parents would be disappointed to say the least. This was something they never planned for or expected. It altered their own plans for their respective children. On one part, they will think they have failed too, especially if they are well known people with some reputation to protect, especially when it comes to moral or spiritual issues.
I think he needs to go to the parents and tell them he is sorry. That shows his character to address issues head on and also never to shy from responsibilities. The parents love him; they see him as a son too, so he should approach them as his parents too. Of course the parents wouldn’t think he exploited her because not only were they in the know about the relationship, but because they love him just as a son too. They have practically watched him grow over the years and it was good votes of confidence from them to allow him date their daughter, even that early. They know things happen between boys and girls and they would desperately wish it wouldn’t be their daughter.
Like I was saying, he should go to the father of his girlfriend and apologize to him. He would obviously show his disappointment but he will appreciate the honour. They will talk it over during their golf training sessions but the reality they will both come to is, they will soon be a grandfather. He should show his character since they have shown faith in him in the first place. He should go and meet with this man and apologize. He shouldn’t wait for them to find out by themselves, if they haven’t already.
Then he needs to also go to the mother and apologize. She might relate a little bit since she is a woman herself but that doesn’t mean she won’t feel disappointed and look at him with the kind of look that shows you have stolen something from her, but she will appreciate the fact that he is not sweeping things under the rug and he showed responsibility.
