Is there something about Steem that really grinds your gears? It's ok to have beef with aspects of this platform, after all it's the early days and everything is pretty janky.
Sharing critical feedback of Steem is a way that you can help the community grow - as long as you do it in a productive spirit.

Today's cup: Sencha Green Tea
Overall I love steem. This platform is one of the best things that ever happened to me and I suspect that in 2018 I will somehow spend even more time on here than I did in 2017. With every passing day, steem feels more and more like a full time job.
Nonetheless I have some criticisms, as we all probably do. In this post I’ll briefly lay out a few of my main beefs with the steem system as it stands today. Then I’ll ask you to contribute your own ideas.
My Main Steem Criticisms
(1) Lack of Viewership
Financially speaking, steem is beautiful. It’s possible for small, independent creators to earn more on steem than anywhere else.
The downside is the lack of views. I put a lot of work into content creation, distribution, and promotion... I even cross-promote to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! But it seems like relative to the amount of work I put in on Steem, I don't get as many views as I could elsewhere.
In spite of my continued effort to drum up interest, I earn an average of 50-60 views per post. That seems low (pending further research, I suppose) compared to other social media sites if I had an equivalent number of followers. On Instagram for example I get 40-50 views on posts pretty regularly and only have ~370 followers.
I don’t know what the answer to this is - but I know I’m not alone in wishing for better viewership on the steem platform in general.
(2) Non Steemit Interfaces are Struggling to Gain Momentum
I’d love to see more users actively using interfaces other than Steemit. After all, steemit is supposed to be the first use case of steem, not the ultimate destination for it.
I wrote another piece a while back - Developing Steem to Its Fullest Potential - Why SMTs are Crucial, and Steemit.com Isn't So Important - and I still feel that it is true. The long term vision of steem is that it will power the majority of media on the web by enabling easy and fair monetization for all creators.
Right now though it’s mostly a single great community - steemit. Some people use other interfaces - Busy, ChainBB, etc - but only a few are fundamentally a new experience, such as Zappl. Even DTube and DSound uploads seem to be mostly viewed via Steemit. I’d love to see a more diverse steem experience.
What are Your Main Steem Criticisms?
I could write forever on this topic but I want to get to your opinion: What do you think? What are the biggest issues that we need to improve upon for 2018?
