
The suggestion to nationalize a country's data seems to be a better suggestion than that offered by the U.S presidential candidate Andrew Yang, namely, to remunerate the individual citizens.
Personal data is practically of little value until it is aggregated and KDD processes are applied to it to extract value from it. Further the contribution of each individual to the aggregate data would necessarily differ. It would therefore be much simpler and far more practical to nationalize data and handle it as a national resource rather than a individual property.
