Thanks for visiting! Nothing like a Dust storm in Tempe-Phoenix Arizona to spice things up. I have to admit, these things are fun to watch and experience as they move in and move out.

Imagine standing on a street corner and looking all the way to your right and seeing a nice peaceful partly cloudy sunset and then you look all the way to your left and you see a massive tan wall heading your way with lightning, high winds that can take down trees, hail and dust particles that contain quartz.

Quartz is a mineral that can cause inflammation and possibly give you whats called Hay Fever. It's not very common but it happens. It happens more so in animals than humans in AZ but who knows elsewhere.
The first one I witnessed, I couldn't help but be surprised by the taste sand in my mouth as it approached even though it wasn't right over me.

they remind me of New England in Autumn when theres tons of fog rolling through and you can only see a few car lengths in front of you accept when the hail starts dropping, ish gets real! Garbages running down the street, yard furniture starts dancing around and things fly!

After it dies down and flows over the area an amber color in the air remains for a bit which does kind of look pretty cool

Overall, I thoroughly enjoy filming them and grabbing pics. When the alarm starts buzzing on my phone for an incoming dust storm, excitement sets in and thats when its time to get the drone and equipment out ;)
I can't even begin to count how many hours I've spent with filming, timelapse editing and sharing when it comes to Haboobs but its been a ton. Worth every minute!
