I can’t believe that it has been exactly one year since I have joined Steemit. It all started with my friend @threebagsfull telling me about a platform that pays you for your content. I must admit, that the thought of being paid for creating content was what initially attracted me to Steemit. What made me stay was not the money, but rather the community.
For the past 6 months, I have been living my dream as a travel blogger, and it is all thanks to my Steemit community. I’ve made countless friends on Steemit, and the coolest part is that I have been traveling to meet them!
My heart is filled with so much gratitude and love. I wanted to take some time in this post to thank some of my biggest supporters and friends, because I wouldn’t be living this life, if it weren’t for you all. Thank you @xaero1 @kpine @v4vapid @acidyo @ramengirl @teamsteem @anomadsoul @dtube @dlive @shaka @acromott @polebird @kaylinart @tamim @emjoe @nomadicsoul @gtg @aussieninja @mayasiam @yoshiko @shogo @wa7 @redjepi @earworm @xabi @courscate @nanzo-scoop @charles1 @kevinwong @skyleap @nickskywalker @shello @theaustrianguy @cobmaximus @dominik.homa and many more.
I thought I would share some of the highlights of my first year on Steemit.
A very memorable experience was attending Steemfest 2. It was actually my first time traveling in Europe. Shout out to @rolandp for such an amazing event! I was delighted to make so many new friends. I met @shogo, @ramengirl, @fukako @kinakomochi, @maa, @gtg and many more! I can’t wait for Steemfest 3!
After meeting @ramengirl at Steemfest, we planned to explore Asia together! I was excited to spend six weeks traveling to Thailand, Japan and Korea with my Korean sister. We even had Steemit meetups in Japan and Korea.
While in Thailand, we met up with @mayasiam and @earworm, who are some of the sweetest people in the world! I can’t wait to go back to Thailand to visit you two.
In our travels in Japan, we even got to take a stain glass class with the talented @yoshiko! Thank you for sharing your passion with us.
After my trip to Asia, I hopped continents, and went to visit @teamsteem in Canada. There we had so many incredible experiences together. One of my favorite experiences in Canada was flying a small airplane with @nickskywalker.
A month later, I traveled to Portland, where I met up @aussieninja, and we learned how to be ninja’s at ninja school!
Recently, @teamsteem came to visit @acromott and me in California, and the three of us traveled the California coast together. I can’t wait to share more of our experiences together in future posts!
Currently as I’m writing this post, I am actually on the airplane, traveling to see another Steemanian, @stevenalexander! I can’t wait to see him in a couple of hours.
I still can’t believe it’s been a whole year, since I joined Steemit. Cheers to many more fun adventures and making awesome friends! I love you all!
