As I've been reading the whitepaper, and other "founding documents" of the platform, in the welcome section. (the things all newcomers are encouraged to read) I've stumbled across some confirmation of a suspicion I've had since trending has become the domain of the highest bidder. Bots were never supposed to influence rewards. I think it's harming the steem eco-system, which should concern all of us. I'm going to share a few quotes from the white paper and a few other sources and talk about this for a bit, in light of my own campaign to encourage users to stop upvoting content they don't read, even by proxy. I hope you'll watch it.
