The Aonach Eagach is known as mainland Britain's narrowest mountain ridge. I've been intending to do it for the past two years, but I didn't want to do it until I felt fully ready, with a few ridge walks and some good scrambling experience under my belt.
I had already decided that this would be the year, and last week my good friend Fatima asked if I wanted to do the ridgewalk with her tomorrow. I couldn't think of a better person than Fatima, as not only has she done this ridge four times, she's also a very experienced scrambler, climber and mountaineer, and she is a very relaxed and thoughtful person - not a gung-ho show-off!
So to say that I'm excited about tomorrow would be a strong understatement. I hope to bring back some fantastic photos of our adventure, but I won't let the camera get in the way of safety!
Let the action begin!
