It's always a great pleasure to play with professional musicians. Although we were kinda like atmostpheric 'background music" and had to wear their clothes (yes, we didn't choose white sneakers), the music was so much fun!
A lot of the songs seemed to be French Gypsy Jazz standards which were new to me. And when the singer joined we played a couple popular songs and changed the style to fit the theme. It worked well!
These events usually require you to be there many hours in advance. Some musicians may be talented, but aren't always the kinda people you want to hang with too long. These guys however were a great bunch of people! No egos, no arrogance, just smooth sailing and a fun gig.
Etienne - guitar/vocals
Marc - guitar/vocals
Jenni - Flute
Kayleigh - Vocals (unfortuately wasn't in this clip)
Myself on bass
On a side note, there were a couple more short clips that I would have liked to have joined together here. I guess I'll have to look into some video editing software. I've been using VUE but you can only export clips under 90 seconds. I also tried open shot which wouldn't let me export until I paid. I didn't find that software to be too user friendly though. Guess I'll have to keep looking.
