So finally, I have REAL. LIFE. FRIENDS. on #steemit! My daughter, @sushiqueen, and my buddy from work, @ericstotle, are both now on Steemit! It feels so amazingly good to have people I know and love involved in such a great project. The ability to be rewarded for hard work and creativity is a great gift and I am so happy to finally to be able to share it with people in my life.
Today started out with a visit to the foot doctor due to a severe pain for the last 9 months(yeah I should have seen about it sooner), The assistant took one look at the issue and gave me a 15 syllable word for the condition that, in layman's terms, is a plugged sweat gland(ooooooh gross, right?). So, she grabbed a scalpel and went to work like she was work the lunch rush at a hibachi grill! She cut me like we were in a gang turf war! So after squirming, wailing, and gnashing my teeth, she said she removed most of the issue, but I would need a week or two of everyday acid home treatments. At least it is fixable and not permanent so thank God for small blessings!
After the doctor torture session, I met up with a friend from church who needed help with shooting. He works for a law enforcement agency in corrections and has recently been chosen to attend the basic police academy. One of the conditions is that he shoot a set course with a 75% accuracy. So, I met him at my local firing range and spent about two hours going over marksmanship, sight alignment, the proper grip, the proper stance, and actually shooting several boxes of ammo. He was a quick study and I have no doubt he will pass with flying colors. Hopefully, I will be able to work in one more session before he has to test. Spending my afternoon giving back to a friend by teaching is such a humbling blessing and I can only hope to eventually be able to teach firearms and police topics full time at some point in the future.
Finally, I was able to make it home and record a fun video with my amazing daughter who is up visiting from Florida. We are all headed to the Florida panhandle soon and then she's back home in middle Florida leaving her old man to pine away for her...lol. Being able to share steemit with her and teach her the little I know about it has been such a satisfying experience! Thanks for taking the time to read the post and watch the cute little vid we made!
If you all get a chance, please take a minute to go follow her at @sushiqueen and my friend from work @ericstotle. Here is his first introduction post. I am sure he would be so very appreciative of some upvotes and encouragement!
