People who made deals with these creatures largely now only have done so because their families in the past have done so, none of the people alive today had anything to do with how all this started, even the worst people in the world were born into this already established alliance and if they are still human they are utterly petrified of the vril having been around them their whole lives, having to watch people sacrificed to them as part of an unholy religion worshiping them and having to be around people who are droned, constantly watched, under threat of death if they do Anything other than comply.

It is so bad and its been happening for too long but don't worry, they are after all just a bunch of stupid lizards and humans are way better and smarter and more capable than they will ever be which is why that, even in the past, when they were found out they were massacred, they have strengths but we have more. We live on surface world naturally whereas they have to fight and drone people to make it where We start off, they are an evolationary remnant.
The only real issue is Knowing they are even a real thing that truly exists.
Da Vrils greatest deception was convincing you that they don't exist, because by being unknown they gained true power.
