Here's a little drawing i made for @stillwater. He's been very supportive on my blog (and in general to others on steemit) and after reading his introduction post, he seems like a good honest family man who loves his wife and children - and that should be honored.
I've never drawn a child before, i've only read about the difference between babys, children & adults when drawing faces so this was a bit of a challenge that i wasn't expecting when i started out.
I kind of worked myself into a corner with the choice of pastel & paper, there's only so dark you can make these pencils and there was a lot of subtle light effects which were hard to capture. It was a beautiful picture of a beautiful child and i found that it was a real challenge to capture the subtle light correctly - (i am pretty happy with how the penguin outfit turned out thou!) - i think as a first stage study it was a good attempt that could be improved upon to figure out some better methods for subtle light & translucency in my drawing with this setup of pastel & paper.
Anyway, it's just a small thank you to a good person out there somewhere in the Steemit ether.
Thanks!
