Remain in lanes
With enough repetition
they etch initials in treerings:
with voices alone
become the scalpels of pharisees.
Charisma confined to fern-lines,
allows the climbers to photosynthesize.
Foreclose upon bleak facades
with cartoon dreams looming parade-float-like.
Bloated chain that swells the river banks:
Not to worry--onward drudge.
Holy over-the-shoulder salt thrown
Superstition solely cubby-holed.
Keep on the blinders,
warhorse onward.
Fill out the forms,
with blazing blanks.
Crimson numerals
tattooed on temples,
billboards bright
loom over the teeming ranks.
